I’ve always loved reading and as an adult I’ve gone through reading “phases”. Sometimes I’ll read every free moment and sometimes I don’t pick up a book for months - that’s definitely the ADHD in me! I will also read just about anything!

My Live, Laugh, Loves (Fiction)
Books that I have live laugh loved throughout my reading journey. Some are more recent than others, but I think reading is sometimes about the place they hold in your life. There’s a little bit of everything in my favorites!
One of my all time favorite books. As an adult I’ve gone through phases where I read a lot and where I don’t read at all. This is a book that was kind of out of character for me, but really helped me into a “reading” phase.
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, Paperback
This is one of the first books that really made me excited to read again. Fun fact: one of my first tattoos is a quote from this book.
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini: Books
Twilight came out when I was in late elementary school and holds such a nostalgic place in my heart. I’m pretty certain I’ll be a “Twi-hard” forever.
Twilight Saga Series | Twilight Books
I read this book in the throes of a terrible break up while I worked in a downtown boutique. Everything about it felt poetic and meaningful.
Milk and Honey: Rupi Kaur: 9781449474256 - Books
The Lake House was my first Kate Morton book and it was incredible! Kate has a very particular way about writing and so her patterns through the books are very similar, but I’m still always surprised at the out come. I love a book that brings me in a...
The Lake House by Kate Morton
I always always always recommend this book when people are in a reading rut, need a palate cleanser, or are just looking for a nice read. I love a novel that feels a little historic and is based on real events.
Cold Sassy Tree - Burns, Olive Ann: Books
I did not expect to love this one as much as I did. It had a little bit of everything too, something to make my heart pound, a few tears, some laughs, and some puzzlers. I haven't watched the show yet, but I am thinking I will.
Lessons in Chemistry (B&N Exclusive Edition)|BN Exclusive
I've been a long time anti-romance book type of girly. I don't really know why to be honest, but this was a book that really swayed me. It's an easy fun read and I fell in love with the characters quickly. It also changed my mind on romance/fluffier ...
Beach Read | Paperback
This was a good one. I felt such a range of emotions. For a really long time I stayed away from books that made me cry and I didn’t really anticipate that this book would, but oh man it did.
Big fan. Ending is nice and neat, but realistic too.
We Deserve Monuments
I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride with this book. I really changed my stance and what I thought the ending would look like at least three times. I kind of fell in love by the end though.
The Reappearance of Rachel Price
Misery was one of my first Stephen King reads and probably my favorite still. I read it so quickly because it was well written and because it made my heart pound. I haven’t read it again since because it gives me the shivers!
Misery by Stephen King
Listen. Listen. Listen. I love this series. I love the first one and all the ones to come after. I really feel like each time I read these I have a new perspective and I have a new understanding and takeaway. This book - and the full series - is one ...
The Giver (Newbery Medal Winner)|Paperback
Full disclosure I hated this book when I read it the first time as a young adult. So much of the book was lost on me and I just really did not understand anything other than the surface level of the words. Then I worked as a tech and media specialist...
Stargirl|Paperback
This - and the second one - is worth the hype. Full disclosure - I didn’t love the third as much primarily because of the ending. However, this was a really really good book. The second is good; but not quite as good and the third is similar. I love ...
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder: Deluxe Edition|Paperback
If you could hear inside my brain you would hear me hollering about this. I love this series and I really like the writer in general. I ate this series up - I thought it was incredible - and I like her style of writing. This book did trigger me to r...
One of Us Is Lying|Paperback
TBR - She's Lengthy
This is pretty high up on my TBR right now! I am really enjoy reading about true crime and honestly I love non fiction reads. I’m looking forward to this one! I don’t have a lot of non-fiction readers in my circle, so if anyone has read this or anoth...
American Mother: The True Story of a Troubled Family, Motherhood, and the Cyanide Murders That Shook the World|Paperback
This is another of Olsen’s books on my TBR! I think he has a really nice style of writing and he really does a lot of exploration of every case/family/life he covers. I feel like I have a pretty accurate and well rounded picture in my mind when I rea...
American Black Widow: The shocking true story of a preacher's wife turned killer|Paperback
This is the last book of Olsen’s that’s officially on my TBR at the moment. I tend to get overwhelmed when I have too much on my list because I want to read them all and then the executive dysfunction creeps in.
The Last Thing She Ever Did|Paperback
Real Life Reads (Non-Fiction)
This was the first book I read of Gregg’s! It was a really good and comprehensive book. I don’t really know how many authors who can take something that happened decades before and paint such a vivid picture. I think I’ll likely be reading more of Gr...
The Amish Wife: Unraveling the Lies, Secrets, and Conspiracy That Let a Killer Go Free|Paperback
I struggled reading this one, but I think back on it often! The struggle was not because of the writing or the story - honestly I wanted to know more. I have never read a book from the perspective of someone close to a serial killer, so this was a fi...
Raised by a Serial Killer: Discovering the Truth About …
I thought this was a quick read - I am a reality TV addict at the end of the day. I watched the Duggar’s shows growing up and watched the crimes of their child play out in the media. I also saw the pretty public move away from such conservative value...
Counting the Cost
I think this was the second book I read of his and I really enjoyed it. I should preface that I enjoyed reading it, not because it wasn’t like horrific, but Gregg has a really nice style of writing. It also had the true crime element that I tend to l...
If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood|Paperback
Okay, here’s the thing, it’s long. Like really long. And some of its dry, but holy shit I loved it. I thought this was such an incredible view of MLK Jr’s life - truly like nothing I’ve read before. I really took a lot away from it and it truly is on...
King: A Life|Hardcover
I’m a reality TV lover. I have been a dedicated Sister Wives watcher and lover since it first started airing and I continue to watch each new episode and rewatch old ones like it’s my job. This was so incredibly eye opening - mostly because the first...
