i never start with budget. i start with the awkward moment they're trying to fix — the new apartment with no vibe, the friend who works late, the dad who says he wants nothing. this frames everything so the gift feels personal first, cheap second.

i make a secret board with their name and pin 20 things they'd actually save themselves. after 10 minutes the pattern is obvious — cozy textures, mugs, soft light. it's like reading their mind without asking.

i search amazon then filter reviews for the word "gift." real people tell you if it arrived cute, if the packaging felt thoughtful, if their sister cried. that's my evidence it feels personal, not just cheap.

i picture them using it at 8pm on a friday. would this make their couch better? would they reach for it without thinking? if yes, it passes my cozy test and stays on the list.

before i add anything to lavanya zone, i run this 3-point check. no check, no post. this is why my lists feel like they were made for one person, not everyone.
