Some of my fave Toronto eats as a foodie on a budget looking for diverse options
This restaurant is owned by Majdi, who is Palestinian. I've worked with Majdi several times on catering (when I was an event planner) and his food is INCREDIBLE.
Felfel Mediterranean Cuisine
Relatively affordable and amazing for a large group.
Mother's Dumplings
My wife and I love this one, and they have mariachi bands on the weekends! The large birria is great to share and pretty affordable!
Sinaloa Factory
Literally the most similar food I've found in Toronto to what I ate when I lived in Beijing. It's so good! And it's an all you can eat flat fee, so it's pretty affordable. Just make sure to go there on an empty stomach!
Yue Lai Buffet
This is my favourite ramen in Toronto. Controversial, I know, but trust me I've tried many, and their Tonkotsu Special can't be beat in my eyes.
Tondou Ramen
They have the best snacks! I especially love their chamoyada as a treat hehe
Fruta Libre
A fully vegan restaurant that I love - p.s the onion rings are such a slay
Fresh Kitchen + Juice Bar
Super affordable and fun (they have a free popcorn machine!)
Pennies
Y'all already know, but Ikea is literally the best on a budget. I'm a huge fan of mixing their Nordic water to create my own mocktail lol.
Swedish Restaurant and Bistro
The tacos are delish, and since it's in an outdoor food court there are no extra charges etc.
