Start by clipping your nails to a shorter length so they do not stick out from under the press ons.

Drizzle a bit of this cuticle remover onto your nails and let it sit for a minute.
Instant Cuticle Remover Oil
Then take a cuticle pusher and push back the skin that was removed from the oil. Make sure to be gentle! This step is really satisfying.
Affordable Cuticle Pusher
I also try to trim a bit of my cuticles off but not too much! I just get rid of a bit of the excess so it does not lift the press ons.
Cuticle Prep
This is such an affordable nail buffer. But take this to the nail and go back and forth a few times to build grit for the press ons.
