Body, Hair & Skin Essentials: A rotation from a curious-creature of habit

Purple Star emoji 6 items
From someone who loves to explore and has tried more products than she can count, yet somehow ends up rotating the same favorites. Every now and then, though, something new earns its place. Some of those stay for years, or at least until they’re disc...

We really overlook how good a simple staple can be.

Big tub, relatively affordable, actually nourishing, and completely fragrance‑free, so it won’t irritate your skin or clash with whatever perfume you’re wearing.

I used to rotate through all the trendy competitors, but I always got bored and came back to this. I keep repurchasing, and honestly, it’s on a streak.

My skin is relatively forgiving, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve definitely become fond of heavier formulas, just not the ones that stay tacky forever, that's still a no-no. It absorbs quickly and gives good hydration.

If you’ve never given it a chance, I genuinely recommend trying it at least once.

This is another one I really don’t have anything bad to say about. It does exactly what it claims, and I think it lives up to the brand’s hype. It’s not my absolute favorite, but that’s purely preference and the fact that my skin sometimes needs some...

It’s lightweight, you can apply it on dry skin and only feel a slight tackiness at first, and it absorbs quickly, which makes it great for summer or hot, humid weather.

It’s fragrance‑free, comes in a big tub, and it’s affordable.

If I can’t find the Cetaphil, I’ll go for this one without hesitation! Again, as I said my skin just does better with more hydration, but if you’re someone who can get away with lighter moisturizers, this might be perfect for you.

I personally wouldn’t use it on the face, though. I haven’t had the best experience with CeraVe around my eyes even on the face formula, it stung. You can try, it says it’s safe and could be a great 2‑in‑1, but just be warned and be ready to wash you...

Rediscovered this gem recently. The texture is easy to apply, a little goes a long way, and it keeps hair moisturized without weighing it down.

I like applying it to towel‑dry, already‑detangled hair and letting it absorb. I usually air‑dry, but I’ve never had issues styling afterward. I only use it mid‑to‑ends to avoid heaviness (my scalp gets oily fast) and this routine works perfectly.

I wouldn’t call it a full “treatment,” though. It’s probably not enough for very damaged hair. But if that’s not your case, it’s affordable, effortless, and delivers great payoff.

I was a blondie once, ok? Well... half blondie. I had a peekaboo, loved it, but getting my dark hair to platinum definitely did some damage. And I cannot, for the life of me, understand WHY no one talked about this gem. You don’t need the full Joico ...

My hair wasn’t elastic or fried, but it was noticeably drier than the untouched parts. More texture, more frizz. This mask made it smooth again. And the best part? It didn’t weigh down the rest of my hair. I don’t know what sorcery that is, because m...

If you’re going blond, or just dealing with that bleach‑roughness, this helped me so much. I was genuinely happy to spend every cent on it.

PS: This is not a purple toning product. It won’t get rid of yellowness.

I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this. It’s a great water‑based cleanser. Not the cheapest, not the priciest, but it can last quite well depending on your routine, so the value balances out.

It doesn’t irritate my eyes, doesn’t strip my skin, and never leaves that dry or tingly feeling afterward. For a water‑based product, it actually has good cleansing power, and it’s fragrance‑free.

That said, I wouldn’t use it as a standalone “no‑rinse” cleanser, even though it claims you can. It can leave some residue behind (not just leftover makeup, but the product itself), and that buildup doesn’t feel great, especially once moisturizer goe...

But as a gentle, effective water‑based cleanser? Great product. Has its fame for a reason, and if you can find the pump version, GO FOR IT.

I still believe cleansers don’t need complicated formulas or big‑name branding unless you’re after the “experience.” But this one genuinely surprised me, a friend recommended it. My skin is combination (getting drier with age but still has its teenag...
