Two locations, one in the H Street corridor, one on 14th Street. I love the nonfiction selection here, and the bookseller picks are always super interesting. A great place to picks up a gift (or a gift card).

With locations all over the city, this is THE DC bookstore chain. The author events they put on are amazing and interesting every time. The new Union Market location in particular is huge and has a great selection.
