since halloween is right around the corner, wanted to share some of my favourite haunted & haunting places i've ever visited (and share some of my personal scary stories!)
Map
pennhurst asylum was one of the first “spooky” sites i have ever visited knowingly! i would honestly skip the haunted houses and do the tour during the day and the ghost hunt at night (unless you love jump scares and actors touching you – which i do ...
Pennhurst Asylum
one of my fave spots in los angeles, the mystic museum always has a creepy event going on that is a lot of fun & educational! must stop for all halloween needs!
The Mystic Museum
i used to eat picnics here! an absolute beautiful place during the day, make sure to get tickets for cinespia screenings at night there! nothing better than sitting in a cemetery full of old stars watching a movie at night. one night i went and they ...
Hollywood Forever Cemetery
when i stayed here last, it was the general sutter inn and it's definitely one of the CREEPIEST places i have ever stayed! our photos had black blobs in them, we heard noises all night, and all our bags ended up SHOVED under our bed! such a creepy pl...
Lititz Springs Inn
everyone knows about the queen mary and i won't lie – it's a good spooky time. one of my fave places to go – i think the staff does a lot to really level up the scary factor!
The Queen Mary
generally a really spooky place with a really spooky background! i've never been here but i've heard enough things from my longterm los angeles friends that make me think there's something definitely weird going on!
Old Los Angeles Zoo
always a perfect place to visit around halloween!
Salem
finding out how haunted this place was after spending so many field trips there was crazy! definitely a scary vibe!
Fort Delaware
definitely one of the more macabre stops you can make – but there's actually a lot of information here!
Museum of Death Hollywood
genuinely one of the spookier places & with such a long & sad backstory!
Tower of London
staying here over night is for the truly brave of heart! i love history & this place is super informative (i'm just not brave enough to stay the night!)
Lizzie Borden House (A Bed and Breakfast & Museum)
billy the kid has always been one of those historical characters that fascinated me – and visiting his grave was a really cool experience. fort sumner has tons of spooky stories!
Billy the Kid's Gravesite - Fort Sumner NM
while this is not a haunted place, definitely provides a haunting backdrop. this abandoned town is a graveyard to old buildings & a very interesting backstory. if you visit like me, know some people do still live here, so please be respectful!
Cuervo
i don't know what happened here but my friends and i were walking around this place, got super disoriented, horribly lost, and ended up on a construction site. just a creepy vibe the whole day.
Gettysburg National Military Park (U.S. National Park Service)
while i never got to stay here at the airbnb, i have visited the house before – totally gorgeous and a must see for any ahs fan!
