not *exactly* found footage but more of the lost episode genre, i think this is a perfect movie. i suggest this movie to everyone i hang out with.
Late Night with the Devil
you definitely have to see the other paranormal activity movies to understand the convoluted lore in this movie, but kathryn newton is the best in this and is a really likable final girl. you're rooting for her the whole time.
Paranormal Activity 4
this movie is GREAT! it sort of breaks from the usual paranormal activity lore and the acting in it? so good! there's actual scares and moments so wild you will laugh out loud. such a fun ride!
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
i went into this with low expectations and was blown away. it's a great parody of ghost adventures with actual chilling scares. i really was surprised with how much i liked this movie!
Grave Encounters
this is a perfect found footage movie – the documentary framing adds so much to it and the pacing is great. such a good, slowburn horror movie
Hell House LLC
this is SUCH a wild ride and i think it accurately captures internet culture. such a good time from start to finish, joe keery is basically playing off of himself for a lot of it and he's a great lead.
Spree
this movie is full of the worst people in the world, which i think is why it's kind of fun? like it's scary sort of but it's more like if the kids from gossip girl had to fight a ghost.
Unfriended
i can't decide if this is the best movie i have ever seen or the worst, but i'm going to go with best. if you love the hell house llc movie, this ending provides closure but with a plot twist that comes out of NOWHERE and will leave your jaw on the g...
Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire
the worst
this is for the found footage you wish had remained lost.
everything that made the original good is absent from this remake. they make the mistake of showing everything to the point that the mystery is totally gone.
Blair Witch
this is basically exposition: the characters just talk at each other endlessly until the movie just sort of trails off. also one character is presumed to live but also disappeared apparently? so?
Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel
the boyfriend in this movie makes it UNwatchable. he is such a jerk and clearly hates his girlfriend.
Paranormal Activity
i would say i don't like this franchise but there are few gems. the second one isn't one of them.

this movie is really lore heavy and if you don't like the other two, you won't like this one.

this movie was so unbelievably wild and unrealistic it's just…goofy. it's like flatliners but with none of the compelling storylines.

the characters in this are the absolute worst but not in the fun way like unfriended. they just are so boring and unlikable. it's not nearly as good as the first one.

not as bad as the other slenderman movie but still not great….and the ending makes no sense.
