Hens
This is what we use in our brooder and hospital coops. 2 gallons is small enough that the water stays warm enough that the chicks and hens want to drink all winter long.
Heated 2 Gallon Poultry Drinker
I love using the coop refresher in the winter months! I put a thin layer down on top of the old bedding and then add new shavings on top.
Deep Litter Method Life Saver
My hens love their Grubblies! High protein snack that I share with my ladies during peak lay and on days they can't free range for bugs in the garden.
Super protein powered snack!
Winter life hack: put one of these in your nest box so eggs don't freeze during the beginning and end of the winter (you know when it's warm during the day and below freezing at night)
Nest Box Warmer
So cute! I stamp this and our logo on our egg cartons before giving them out to family and friends and selling at farmers markets.
Self-Inking Rubber Stamp 1.5in Black Ink
Make any container a chicken feeder! We got screw top 50 lb containers and then drilled the holes. Now we can put out an entire bag of feed for the ladies.
DIY Rain Proof Chicken Gravity Feeder Kit
Our ladies love getting these blocks, and I love that they have something to peck at on days we can't let them free range
Kalmbach Feeds 25 lb Premium Poultry Block
We do 17% most of the year, but we watch our hens' conditions and adjust during peak lay and molt.
Did you know that high protein diets can be hard on a hen's kidneys?
Not enough protein in their diet will cause low egg production.

Nutrena NatureWise 17% Protein Layer Pellet Poultry Feed
Our go-to high protein feed for peak lay and during molt to help feathers grow back quickly.
Nutrena Country Feeds® Egg Producer Poultry Feed, 50 lb. 22%
Chicks
Chick sized grit to help with digestion. Chicks need offered free choice grit as soon as they are introduced to new foods and not just chick crumble. We typically start adding new novelty treats at 3 weeks and allow them to begin foraging at 6 weeks.
Manna Pro 5 lb Chick Grit with Probiotics
Do I "love" medicated feed?
No.
Do I HATE the thought of coccidiosis more?
Absolutely 💯 Yes.
Kalmbach Feeds 50 lb 18%
Great for a boost in chicks- especially after shipping or transporting.
Electrolyte and Vitamin Supplement for Poultry 3 Pack
Flock Health
It's definitely something every chicken owner should have on hand! Any time a hen is looking a little "off" we give her an oral dose and add some to the water for the flock.
Rooster Booster B-12, 16 oz Bottle
Basically, wound care magic in a bottle.
Be sure the area is wrapped or the hen is isolated to prevent pecking for fastest healing time.
Vetericyn Plus Poultry Care, 8 fl oz. Bottle
Fast acting energy for weak poultry. We've reached for this many times when bringing home chicks from farm stores that had been there a bit too long.
Poultry Nutri-Drench
Coop
I'll admit, it's a bit of a splurge, but I am in love with my Omlet door! I love how adjustable it is, I can set up and close times or let it determine when to open and close based on daylight hours.
Automatic Chicken Coop Door
I use a layer of this bedding on top of the sand base layer. Then I add shavings on top. The coffee grounds are absorbent and really keep the smell down. Bonus- they really improve our compost whenever we add the litter to our compost piles.
Recycled Coffee Animal Bedding - 35 lbs.
I use these hanging waterers for free choice grit, oyster shell, and minerals. Each one gets its own holder so I can track that the ladies are getting what they need.
So many uses
Great for teaching pullets where to lay. Pro tip- Mark them with a pencil, or overzealous egg gatherers will collect them and try to crack them.
Egg Ceramic Nest Brown
Our coop has the double box, though we typically utilize it as a community laying box. I love that it has a roll away feature. Our eggs roll to the back of the nest box and out of the hen part of the coop into the storage shed area.
