Forget big hotels in London, to get an authentic experience you need to stay at a pub with rooms. This one is conveniently located in Notting Hill and immaculately cleaned. A hidden gem indeed.

Every room is decorated with a giant poster of a famous Scot. The beds are SO comfortable and it's in walking distance to most places you want to go.
Edinburgh - Angel's Share Hotel
Gorgeous, modern, and right by the metro
Paris - Hotel Opera Liege
I typically like a Hotel Indigo, but this one is possibly my favorite I've ever been to. Such a modern oasis and right next to the metro as well.
Brussels - Hotel Indigo Brussels City

Florence - Hotel Rapallo
All hotels in Venice by the main canal will cost you, and even more so with a room overlooking the canal. However this gem has windows overlooking it on every floor so you can get the pictures of your dreams AND save money for pasta making class.
Venice - Riva del Vin Boutique Hotel
No photos could ever do this place justice. Located STEPS from the Hagia Sofia. A once in a lifetime experience.
