The whole reason I started this search. I wanted one piece of hardware doing double duty: holding towels below and giving me a real shelf above for folded washcloths, a candle, maybe a plant. These actually exist and they don't all look like hospital...

Sometimes you already have a towel bar you like and just want to add a shelf above it. These are the ones I tested that didn't sag, warp, or fall off the wall at 3am scaring everyone in the house.

Once I had the shelf situation figured out, I realized most of my candles looked terrible on display. These are the ones that actually look intentional sitting on a bathroom shelf, not like I grabbed whatever was on sale at checkout.

You can't put ratty, mismatched washcloths on a beautiful shelf and call it decor. I finally bought matching sets that fold neatly, feel soft, and don't look like they belong in a gym bag.

A shelf with loose items on it still looks messy. Once I added small trays to corral the candle, the lotion, the random hair tie collection, everything suddenly looked intentional instead of scattered.

Nothing ruins your day like a shelf crashing down at 2am because you used the wrong anchors. I learned this lesson personally and now I'm very particular about what goes into my walls.

After the shelf, towel bar, candles, and washcloths were set, something still felt off. These last few additions tied everything together and made the bathroom look like one cohesive space instead of random purchases hung on a wall.
