I went through four pouches before finding ones where the touchscreen still works underwater. Most of them fog up or the screen goes dead two feet below the surface.

Getting the pouch is step one. But if you want footage that doesn't look like a blurry mess, you need a couple of cheap add-ons. Learned this the hard way after 200 unusable snorkeling photos.

Your phone is safe, great. But what about your wallet, keys, and that paperback you brought? One rogue wave taught me to waterproof everything, not just the phone.

Pools and calm lakes don't need the heavy-duty setup. But phones still slip out of wet hands constantly. These float so you're not diving to the bottom of a murky lake hoping for the best.

Sand gets into everything. I once spent twenty minutes picking grains out of my charging port with a toothpick. These keep sand and splash away from your stuff between swims.

You're already waterproofing your phone, might as well protect your music setup too. I killed a speaker with one splash and decided every piece of beach audio needs an IPX rating from now on.

Filming while kayaking or surfing means you need your hands free. Holding a phone pouch in one hand while paddling is a recipe for losing everything. These mounts solved that problem for me.
