Regular yoga mats slide around on grass like they're trying to escape. I face-planted during a warrior pose in front of a dog walker before I figured out what actually grips dirt and uneven ground.

Had a resistance band snap and hit me in the thigh during a squat at the park. The welt lasted a week. These are the ones that haven't tried to injure me yet.

Working out in silence sounds peaceful until you're doing burpees and the only soundtrack is your own heavy breathing and a nearby toddler screaming. Music changed everything.

Nothing kills your motivation like lukewarm water at 2pm in August. I went through three bottles that all promised insulation before finding ones that delivered past the first hour.

Burned the back of my neck so badly during a July circuit session that it peeled for two weeks. Sunscreen alone doesn't cut it when you're sweating it off every ten minutes.

Running shoes on wet grass turned me into a cartoon character slipping on a banana peel. Twice. Finding shoes with actual traction on natural surfaces took more research than it should have.

Checking my phone for intervals meant I'd see a text, respond, scroll Instagram for four minutes, and wonder why my heart rate dropped. Dedicated timers fixed my focus completely.

Post-workout stretching on the grass felt incomplete. My hamstrings stayed angry for days until I started bringing actual recovery tools instead of just lying there hoping the tightness would leave.

Brought a protein bar to the park once in July — opened my bag to find chocolate soup. Had to rethink what I carry for fuel when there's no fridge or air conditioning involved.

Quitting park workouts in November felt like defeat. Figuring out what to wear so I wasn't freezing at the start but drenched in sweat ten minutes later took an entire winter of bad outfit choices.

Carrying a foam roller, water bottle, bands, and a speaker in a regular backpack was chaos — everything shifted around and I spent five minutes digging for stuff every session. Needed something designed for this.
