The passport panic at 11pm the night before our flight was enough to make me rethink the whole trip. These kept every document, boarding pass, and itinerary in one place so I could grab and go.

Our wedding gifts arrived in better shape than my old suitcase used to. After watching my bag get launched onto a conveyor belt one too many times, I finally invested in something that could take a hit.

My skin decided to break out the week of the wedding because apparently stress acne is a thing. Needed products that would fix the damage and survive a pressurized cabin without exploding in my bag.

We picked a resort specifically for the pool and then I almost forgot to pack a swimsuit. The post-wedding brain fog is real, so here's what you actually need poolside.

We walked nine miles our first day exploring and my cute sandals gave me blisters in places I didn't know could blister. Learned that lesson so you don't have to limp through your honeymoon.

Packed five ‘just in case’ outfits and wore the same two dresses all week. Narrowing it down beforehand would've saved me half a suitcase and the stress of choosing while my husband waited by the door.

Made a list, checked it twice, still forgot deodorant. Hotel gift shops charge eight dollars for a tiny stick of something that smells like a hospital, so just pack these ahead of time.

Watched my phone die at 2pm on a day we were exploring a new city with no idea how to get back to the hotel. Never again. These kept everything charged and connected the whole trip.

Got a mystery bug bite on day three that swelled up like a golf ball. Having basic supplies on hand meant we handled it ourselves instead of spending half a vacation day finding a pharmacy.

Nobody talks about this part of honeymoon packing but someone should. Between exhaustion from the wedding and unfamiliar hotel rooms, a few small things made the romantic part actually feel romantic.

The flight home after a honeymoon is emotionally devastating and physically uncomfortable. Coming off a week of poolside cocktails straight into a middle seat for six hours requires preparation.
