There was a stretch where I couldn't sit still on the couch without my leg bouncing and my chest feeling tight. Adding weight — literal, physical weight — was the first thing that broke through when breathing exercises couldn't.

Scrolling my phone was making things worse but my hands needed something to do. Found these after my therapist said ‘give your hands a job so your brain can take a break’ and honestly she was right.

Silence made everything louder in my head. White noise apps on my phone meant notifications would interrupt, so I went physical — and the difference between phone audio and a dedicated machine is honestly night and day.

Lavender alone wasn't cutting it — smelled like my grandmother's bathroom and didn't relax me, just made me nostalgic. Branching out into different scent combos finally made aromatherapy something I actually looked forward to.

Reading before bed used to mean thrillers that made my heart race or self-help that made me feel like a project. Found a sweet spot of books that are interesting enough to hold my attention but calm enough to let me drift off.

Realized my racing thoughts were partly my body screaming at me to move. Not intense exercise — that just gave me more adrenaline at night. Gentle stretching and pressure point stuff finally connected the brain-body loop.

Staring at my phone's blue light until midnight then wondering why I couldn't sleep — took me embarrassingly long to connect those dots. Controlling the light in my space was the cheapest fix with the biggest payoff.

Half of these I bought feeling ridiculous and the other half were gifts I almost returned. Every single one stayed because at 2 AM when your brain is being a jerk, dignity goes out the window and comfort is all that matters.
