I’ve tried a LOT of coffee shops in my time. Here are some of the best coffee shops (in my opinion) that I tried in my two years of living in Durham, NC.
Map
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!! no one compares to whisk & rye. my comfort place.
Whisk & Rye
their ube coffee is immaculate. the coffee is STRONG but is perfectly complimented by the sweet cold foams.
Gossip Tea Lounge
this place is vibeyyyy and they have great coffee!
Cocoa Cinnamon
i’ve had better coffee in my opinion, but the vibes are just so good in here. who doesn’t love a bookstore + coffee shop hybrid. i sat and crocheted for hours in here on my bday.
Daughters Coffee and Books
another one with great vibes. small inside but has outdoor seating!
Cloche Coffee
pretty good coffee. convenient downtown location; in a food hall with other vendors if you’re wanting to sample a few different places!
Foster Street Coffee
once again, very good and cute interior! again limited inside seating but there is a nice patio outside with small fountains and a nearby park!
Narrative Coffee Company
can’t forget omie’s. cute aesthetic and they often host interesting flavor combinations.
Omie's Coffee Shop and Roastery
good coffee & the area is nice! extra points because it’s an offshoot of my favorite durham restaurant, The Goat🤍
Morning Ritual
great coffee, great food, great atmosphere. feels like you transported to a different city lol.
Guglhupf Restaurant
the CUTEST store ft. a food/coffee counter🤍 i’ve liked all the coffee i’ve tried here! in a great area (American Tobacco Campus) so you can take your coffee and go walk around✨
Parker and Otis
their coffee is great, but the FOODDDDD is amazing. can be overstimulating on the inside bc it’s ALWAYS busy but they have a nice outdoor seating area.
Monuts
i really like this place! they have made-to-order food & drink along with grab & go options.
