Take it from me. Newport is perfect. Happy to share my favorite places.

My absolute favorite. Italian/seafood, perfect for white wine and pasta. Their green pasta was featured in the New York Times’ top 10 pastas in the US last year. The appetizers are unreal too.
Giusto
After walking the Cliff Walk, stop here. You can sit outside with a coffee or a drink and look out over the water. It’s peaceful and gorgeous.
The Chanler at Cliff Walk
This is a “you can’t come to Newport and not go here” kind of place. It’s an old mansion with a huge lawn and white chairs overlooking the ocean. Great spot for a drink or a meal. You’ll need to Uber, but it’s worth it.
Castle Hill Inn
Great food, but I mainly go for the martinis. Get the hot and dirty—thank me later. The upstairs bar gets fun at night.
Midtown Oyster Bar
Total classic. One of the oldest operating taverns in the country. Worth going just to say you did.
White Horse Tavern
Right in Bowen’s Wharf—great seafood and an ideal spot for people-watching.
The Black Pearl
Really good food and a fun, relaxed vibe. Great for dinner when you want something dependable but not boring.
Stoneacre Garden
Very “Newport.” Diner-style sandwiches and old-school milkshakes. Get an Awful Awful if you want the full experience.
Newport Creamery
Quintessential Newport. Great martinis, great food, and just the place to be. Make a reservation early—it books up.
Clarke Cooke House
Coffee and Breakfast
It’s touristy, but good. Reliable coffee and pastries.
THE NITRO BAR
Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Nice outdoor seating and solid food.
Cru Cafe
Surprise hit. Best breakfast sandwiches in Newport. Don’t question it—just go.
Mission
Bars and Nightlife
More for a chill drink than going out-out. Great spot to start or end the night.
Bar 12
Fun first stop. Darts, pool, and a balcony for sunset.
Smugglers Waterfront Bar
My go-to. Classic New England bar with a younger crowd. Outdoor area with ping pong.
The Fastnet Pub
A bit more chaotic than Fastnet. Darts, pool, dancing—good for late-night.
Pelham, AL | Official Website
Definitely go here once. Right on the water and there’s always dancing.
The Landing Restaurant
Iconic. You’ll see O’Brien’s stickers on cars all over town. Go during the day and get a mudslide.
