A great place to visit and learn about our city and surrounding areas, different wildlife and old cultures. Discovery world and the butterfly exhibit is a must do.

A great drive for some delicious food and great scenery.
Moeraki Tavern
A very cool beach for taking the family on a hot sunny day. Plenty to do and a great wee shop down the road for ice-cream. It's been a favorite of mine since I was a child.

A great drive to the end of the peninsula to see the lighthouse, albatross and visit the Royal Albatross Centre to learn about our wee colony out there.
Pukekura/Taiaroa Head Nature Reserve: Places to go in Otago
The absolute best way to see and very beautiful panoramic view of Dunedin city. Worth the drive up to see it. You can also mountain bike down the side of the hill if you are about that sort of thing.
Signal Hill | Dunedin Attractions
You can walk from bathoons gully up to the top or drive up to the top. A stunning view of Dunedin and the whole peninsula.
Mt Cargill
Newly made cycleways on both sides of the harbor joined by an already existing cycleway, a great way to see the sighs and keep fit. Catch the ferry across from Portobello or Port Chalmers to do the loop.
Cycle The Loop Dunedin, Otago Harbour
Whether you drive or cycle, this is a great wee place to stop for lunch. About halfway out to the peninsula and albatross colony, or a short trip on the ferry to Port Chalmers.
Portobello Hotel & Bistro
This little ferry not only takes you across the harbor from Port Chalmers to Portobello, you can get off at Quarantine Island to explore the historic buildings and learn the history.
Port to Port - Cruises and Wildlife Tours
A great wee trip out past Port Chalmers and Careys Bay. Some great swamp walks. Nice beaches and on a clear day you can see the albatross across on the opposite heads. Learn about local history, both good and bad. Worth the drive.
Aramoana - Dunedin Attractions
A wee drive north from Dunedin. Some nice locally brewed beer and every day a different food truck. A very cool experience.
ARC BREWING CO
Either a short drive over the hill from Port Chalmers or up the northern motorway from Dunedin. A very special place to see some of our protected wildlife. We'll worth the trip.
