Here are some of our favorite spots in Portland, Oregon! Mostly east side :) (since that's where we live!)

We live around the block, but would go even if we didn't! Awesome Thai food and cute interior. If there's a wait go to Holmans or Angel Face
Great pizza and assorted other things. Amazing vibes. Usually cool art and a fun wine list! They have good breakfast too. They've gotten lots of press lately!
Gotta go here at least once. Haitian food with PNW flair. Feels like an NYC restaurant. Make res as soon as they're released or check Resy for lucky last min openings. So good!! On fancier side
Really fun interior and lots of good dishes to share. Malaysian I believe. Get the roti- it's unreal
Cozy and romantic Italian spot with amazing food. You can do half size pasta so you can try more! Always a wait so put your name in and go to standard tavern nearby (dive bar) or Holmans

nice bar ambiance with super reasonably priced drinks. get a slice for 4 bucks, they have salads and whatnot too
Cozy German beer bar. Feels like you're in Germany! I always get a pretzel but haven't had a full dinner here yet

Rooftop Bar
favorite cocktail bar in portland. won't find drinks like this everywhere!
tell them what flavors and spirits you like and they'll surprise you with something! go at an off time if there are more than 2 in your party
cutest backyard and amazing cocktails. get chips and dip!
I love a good themed bar, and this place doesn't disappoint. Kind of in a random area but very cute and good/cheap drinks! I love the way they serve their martinis

Central eastside industrial coffee stop.
warehouse style coffee shop. great place to work or hang out

good lattes and cute desserts!
great stop while biking
super hip spot for both coffee AND drinks! all of the furniture and glassware is thrifted and funky- they do some cool community events too!
Things to do
downtown on the waterfront
cool concert venue
fun jazz club. tickets are $15. you can get food and drink during the show
worth getting a membership
fun rides all summer long. very casual
great place to hike and bike all year round
monthly rate is super reasonable and they have great classes. and a coffee bar!
lots of creative classes, ranging from mushroom foraging to quilting to ring making and beyond! they book up fast so book in advance
Super cool contemporary art gallery with a variety of shows. I volunteer here! The neighborhood is cute, make sure to walk around while you're there (hint: find the Paul Bunyan statue)
Once a month, cool downtown spots have food and drink specials, djs, etc. Fun to walk around
Awesome spot for cooking classes. They have one off classes or month long series

well curated thrift store, with accessories too. decent prices unlike a lot of other thrift stores!

Going here is such a fun activity (perfect for a rainy day!) lots of cool stuff, I've gotten some really reasonably priced art here

turkey blt is really good
amazing sandwiches with creative ingredients on homemade bread

great brunch or happy hour! They do a Christmas pop up too
Super vibey spot I love for brunch. Apparently dinner is good too. A favorite for a lot of Portlanders
Restaurants I Want to Try ASAP
Apparently have a reasonable tasting menu or you can order whatever.
Tapas! Supposed to be amazing but I keep forgetting to make reservation in advance and they fill up fast. In Alberta
Italian place that looks like it has the cutest interior
Cooking class instructor said it's maybe his favorite spot in PDX
People say great things about it
Creative, organic, funky pizza toppings. There's a Netflix show about it!
Where to Stay
we've had lots of friends and family stay here and they've all said great things! pretty reasonable and there is a cool bar/restaurant downstairs
For people who want to stay downtown, this is where we recommend they stay
another good downtown option! bonus because it has an awesome rooftop bar
