Restaurants
right in downtown, salads and sandwiches
probably the nicest restaurant in Hood River if you're feeling a fancy meal!

some of the best pizza in OR, IMO. right by the water. they also have a pizza truck
A great BBQ spot if you're at the event site watching wind sports. This is a lunch spot and they serve until they're sold out so go early.
A good place for a sandwich
Coffee/Breakfast
Great coffee and pastries and breakfast sandwiches, right downtown
This place is excellent but gets busy so try to go early if possible!
Hikes
4.8 miles, 1,450 ft elevation. Great views!!
2 miles, 250 ft elevation
5.1 miles, 1,640 ft elevation
A classic Mt. Hood hike close to Hood River
This hike is not for the faint of heart (it's HARD) but the views at the top are breathtaking.
A lovely little hike across the river with a great jump into ice-cold water
Wineries and Breweries
next to Hood River Lavender farm, so if you do one- do both! super pleasant and casual to sit outside and have a glass of wine
right by the events site. cool building and great beer and food!
Farm to table meal/experience
wine and pizza! about 15/20 minutes away from downtown Hood River
sun-filled second floor tasting room with great beer! also by the events site
A great brewery in White Salmon if you end up on the other side of the river!
A Biodynamic winery in Mosier! A very cool winery and just ten minutes from Hood River or a bikeride away via the Historic Columbia River Highway
If you're staying in the Hood River Heights, check out this taproom!
My favorite Wine Bar in the Gorge! They have a great selection of wine and the owner makes her own wines with Gamay grapes. Their small plates are all delicious.
A good alternative to pFriem and Ferment (the founder of Full Sail trained the owners of these two breweries, actually). I like their Session IPA. Good views of the river too!

Activities/Places to Go
see why Hood River is known for their lavendar! so pretty and they have a little shop with lavendar things ranging from soaps to lavendar lemonade
about 5 minutes away from downtown Hood River. You can pick flowers here and get beers, beautiful views!
a MUST see- watch kite surfers (Hood River is famous for this activity). right on the water and by some restaurants and breweries
iconic Oregon- you've probably seen pictures of this. it's between Portland and Hood River so we'd recommend going on your way to or from Hood River. You can either just get out and look or do a little hike to the top
if you want to check out White Salmon (the town across the bridge) make sure to get food here! note there's a toll each way for the bridge but it's about a 10 min drive from Hood River

Take a historic train ride!
A little pricey but a fun activity and you can see some beautiful views
There are multiple chill swim spots along this trail if you want to take a dip. Feels way cleaner than the Columbia :)
