You can't come to Scotland without visiting castles! These are my favorite.
I absolutely think this castle is worth every penny. But I highly recommend you buy the earliest tickets available that day, because the crowds get big quick!
Edinburgh Castle
Stirling Castle isn't too far from Edinburgh, and it's absolutely worth it. This is also an amazing alternative if you don't want to deal with the more crowded Edinburgh castle (if you're limited on time).

This is my #1 castle recommendation!!! If you can make the trip north to Dunrobin, you absolutely should. The inside tour through the rooms are incredible, and the outside gardens and grounds are just as amazing ✨✨✨

Blackness Castle was a filming location for Outlander, but it's also a great stop for all regardless! You can walk up the tower and into the empty stone rooms. It's a really cool stop!

Eilean Donan is a must stop as you travel onto or out of the Isle of Skye. I actually don't recommend paying extra for the inside tour, because it's been more modernized. The outside is amazing and offers great views and scenery!

If you're an Outlander fan, this is a must do (this is known as Lallybroch in the show). This is an outside only tour, and I really view this as a must do only for Outlander fans. Otherwise, there isn't much bang for your buck.

Urquhart Castle is a ruined castle. It's a great stop to wander around castle ruins while also getting an amazing view of Loch Ness, as it sits on the water.

Boat tours are an amazing way to see the wildlife and landscapes of Scotland, including the more secluded islands!
This is THE BEST boat tour!!! They have multiple options and price points to choose from. They leave from Portree, and one package provides food. It's a very small group, so it feels so much more intimate and relaxed!
