A politically relevant and epic fantasy mixed with some sci fi elements. The characters are fascinating and wonderfully human at heart.
Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
This book is so lovely and heartwarming! I couldn't put it down. LGBTQ+ rep as well!
The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. MacLean
While everyone always talks about ACOTAR, I fear not enough people talk about SJM's best series! Throne of Glass is an epic fantasy that will take you on a rollercoaster you won't want to put down!

I loved the FMC, I thought she was really interesting. I also loved the world building of their powers.

I loved the dynamic between the two main characters. I also thought the story idea was very unique from other fantasy books!
The Serpent and the Wings of Night - Carissa Broadbent
One of my favorites, I truly love the world being created in this story and all the different aspects of it! The main characters also have a great and steady build over the course of the series.
Spark of the Everflame (Kindred's Curse #1)
Truly an expansive world, filled with action on every page. I was never bored and always wanted to pick it up again to see what happened next!
The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon
An epic series, with more twists than you could ever imagine. A suave MMC who would do anything for his lady.
From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash #1) by Armentrout
It's one of the most well known fantasy books for a reason! Don't listen to everyone else though, it is definitely more epic fantasy than smut!
