These are probably my favourite goodie bag fillers because they give children something to do after the party rather than simply adding another tiny toy to the house.

If I am putting toys into a goodie bag, I’d rather choose something children can play with more than once. These also give you several options depending on the age of the guests.

Books aren't the cheapest option if you're catering for 30 children, but they're excellent if you're doing smaller goodie bags or want one main item rather than lots of little things.

A practical item doesn't have to feel like a boring party favour. Cute stationery is something children can enjoy immediately and then actually use.

I wouldn't make the entire bag sweets, but one or two individually packed treats make sense. For parties, I'd also check allergies and dietary requirements before choosing anything containing common allergens.

The container itself can become part of the gift. I like this approach because it means one less disposable bag going straight into the bin.
