Places to explore in town and close to town
View of the local lake, Crater Lake (about 30 min drive) and downtown.
Klamath Falls, OR
This is one of my favorite little trails in town. I take my dogs on it, for a short hike or longer hike.

every small town specializes in farmers markets and ours has grown!
Klamath Falls Farmers Market
This is an amazing library! So many resources for kids, teens and general interest groups! Very inclusive.
Klamath County Library
quiet but not forgotten. There are tours I think on occassion in the summer. It is out in the middle of nowhere, unsurprisingly. It is a place you can step back in real time and easily imagine what happened.
Camp Tule Lake
There is a paved trail here, and parts are elevated which gives a nice glimps of the lake as you walk. This college is definitely part of Klamath falls set above the town
Oregon Tech
Moore Park is a great place for groups to gather in teh summer. But it also has a huge playground, part of it is next to the lake. Also, the birding trail is a lovely hike that goes a bit uphill if you want some solitude and decent walking.

Tips: CHECK nps.gov/crla FOR CONDITIONS/CLOSURES. Only the access to the water is closed until 2029. Most folks start from the Rim Village to the overlook, its an obvious walk but not “accessible”. For ease/accessibility, use the promenade that is adjacent to Rim Village. Make sure to visit when there is no chance of FOG, people v...

Pinnacles trail is an overlooked gem. My favorite trail, low key, unique, and .8 there and back. My kids walked it fine. I would say 10yo+ for sure, even if city kids. Not to be confused with Annie Creek Canyon Trail.
Pinnacles Trail (2026) - All You MUST Know Before You Go (with Reviews)
Love this hidden gem spot for a short drive outside “of town” to take our dogs! Start at the entrance by driving all the way down the main road and parking in the parking lot by the Klamath River. Boaters can launch their small boats here. A trail is... so spring and summer are the best time to go. You can check at the site to make sure though. It has a dog training “area” which is just a swarth of grass cut near the path towards the Klamath River side, and then we walk our dogs down the little bird...

Shopping
Klamath isn't for mainstream shopping, its for unique experiences.
Her products are amazing, and obviously handmade. This is a family owned and run business. We use her powder detergent, soaps and I just started using her aging moisturizer! It really works better then any commercial moisturizer I have tried.

This is really a hidden gem. It is run by volunteers and the proceeds fund the library's children's programs. It has limited hours, but Saturday 10-2 works for most folks. The books are lower then reasonably priced, hardcovers are 1$!
The Bookie Joint and Jo2Go Coffee Kiosk
Turn off 97 into Chiloquin. Turn right into town- the gallery is next to the library. Everything is hand produced, absolutely stunning pieces. From jewelry to art to quilts, locally made

El Rodeo Steak House
This is a place that opened recently in a small space, but it does not dissappoint! The food has fresh ingredients and the atmosphere is friendly. Large portions, beautifully seasoned!
Greek Pita - Mediterranean Restaurant | Klamath Falls OR
This is our standard go to Mexican food restaurant. The staff is very friendly , the space is large with good lighting. My favorite is enchiladas and margaritas. Consistently yummy over the years.
Mazatlan Grill
Girasol (sunflowers) is a vibe of its own! It perhaps is the most “authentic” Mexican food in town. The decor and ambience knocks it out of the park. Very professional staff and super classy!
Girasol Family Mexican Restaurant & Cantina
If you have to hit a fast food place in town, go to this one. The food is always fresh, there is always great service and friendly staff. It is near the end of town where I live and I have yet to find these things not to be true.
5441 South 6th Street - Burger King
Howard's Meat Center is the real deal. Locally sourced meats so I know exactly where it came from and who raised it. I like their specialty sausages like bratwurst and their buffalo elk pepperoni because they don't load it with the preservatives that wreck my stomach. That alone is worth the trip. Their stuffed por...
Meat Shop — Howard's Meat Center
If you are heading out of town towards Tulelake, this is a convenient delicious stop. Large portion , fresh, and the franchise started at Shasta, different state- similar region. Its always tummy , fresh, but it will have a wait during typical times:...

This is a fun event, you can attend inside or outside music. There's usually vendors and a beer garden. It's not massively crowded which is nice.
Klamath Music - 2026 Festival
Dude this it pretty fun to walk around and see all the cards! Even from the 1900s, and I am not even a car person. We are drawing people from all over, even Central Cali Low riders.
