Such a great book to read. Use context clues all the way through to make inferences.
Walk Two Moons
My MOST favorite book to read with my students. This book teaches about grief, acceptance, peer pressure, family, traditions, friendships and so much more. This book has it all and keeps kids interested from beginning to end.
Red Kayak: Cummings, Priscilla
The sequel to Red Kayak. My students have loved this book.
The Journey Back
Honestly, I held off on this for a long time. It didn't look good. It is amazing and full of opportunities for discussion. It is a little more difficult text-so wait until the end of the year or use with a higher group.
