The tub at my parents' house is one of those old porcelain ones that turns into a skating rink when wet. These are the actual stickers I stuck down in about fifteen minutes while my dad supervised from the doorway with unsolicited advice.

Some tubs are too textured or too old for stickers to hold properly. My in-laws have one of those retro fiberglass tubs and stickers wouldn't stick, so I went with mats instead.

My parents have a walk-in shower in their master bath too. The tile gets slick enough that even I almost ate it once while visiting. Fixed that real quick.

Stickers are great but my physical therapist friend told me grab bars prevent more falls than anything else. I installed three at my parents' house and my dad now uses them even though he swore he didn't need them.

Realized after the scare that my parents' bathroom was basically a cave at night. My mom was navigating to the toilet in pitch darkness because she didn't want to wake my dad with the overhead light.

After fixing the obvious stuff I went a little overboard and bought everything else that might prevent a fall. My mom said I was being dramatic. My mom also almost broke her hip two weeks earlier. So.
