Solutions for Light Sensitivity
Many popular lamp & lighting trends are bad for those of us with light sensitivities. We need beautiful options too! Problem lighting can include harsh bulb light seen from the top or bottom of a lamp shade, thin or see-through lamp shades, brigh... Here are some solutions that mute, dampen, soften and diffuse harsh lighting.
One solution for diffusing harsh lighting from the bottom of a lamp shade is a shade with a diffuser at the bottom. This lamp comes with a diffuser. There are also diffusers sold separately that can be added to an existing lamp.
Add these light diffusers to compatible lamp shades to soften harsh lighting. These particular ones can go on both the top and bottom of compatible lamp shades. There are different sizes for different sizes of lamp shades.
Enclosed lighting is an excellent option. These enclosed sconce-style lights offer only soft lighting.
No exposed bulb in little lamps like these. Plus this one is dimmable so you control the brightness.
For those with light sensitivity, bathroom lighting is extra tricky. Often there are multiple lights, some pointing the light downward, exposed bulbs at the bottom. We need options where the bulbs cannot be seen, like in this example. This one is also dimmable, for even more control.
