No 12-step routine here — just the ten things I've actually repurchased, with the honest version of why.
Looks like skin, not makeup — which is the only kind of foundation I'll wear. It oxidizes a touch over the day, so I size down one shade. Skip it on weekends, reach for it when I actually want to look awake.
Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation - NARS Cosmetics
The reason I bought it: it doesn't settle into my under-eye lines by noon. Coverage is medium, so a really rough night still shows a little — but I'd rather that than the cakey look.
Revealer Concealer - Kosas Cosmetics
Expensive, no way around it. But one tap with a finger and it just melts in and stays put through a full day. Go light — I overdid it the first time and looked windburned.
Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Coquette - Westman Atelier
Wildly pigmented. You need a dot smaller than you think or you'll look slapped — I'm serious. Once you nail the amount it genuinely lasts till you take it off.
A balm, so no glitter and it doesn't cling to my pores the way powders do. It's subtle though — if you want the blinding, see-it-from-space highlight, this isn't your guy.
MERIT Day Glow Highlighting Balm
Been in my bag for years at this point. The lighter shade adds dimension without going muddy or orange, and since it's matte it doesn't fight with a cream blush on top.
Matte Bronzing Brick - Victoria Beckham Beauty
Switched from Ilia and never went back. Actually lengthens and builds, and — the part I care about — no flaking under my eyes by 5pm, which basically every other mascara does to me.
MakeWaves® Mascara - Tower 28 Beauty
The tiny hair-like strokes look real once you get the hang of it. Fair warning: there's a learning curve. My first attempt was closer to a caterpillar than a brow.
MicroStroke Brow Pen | Anastasia Beverly Hills
There's one in every jacket I own. Not really a color product — it just keeps my lips from peeling and looks glossy. The vanilla scent is strong, so a heads up if that's not your thing.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm 15g (Various shades) | Space NK
The difference between my face lasting four hours and lasting all night. Smells a little boozy while it's wet but that fades in a minute. I just don't skip it before a long day.
