Redwoods Elopment Guide (on a budget)
When I decided to get married in the redwoods, I had no idea how hard it would be to actually plan it. I wanted a destination wedding in a place my now-husband and I both loved deeply, but I also wanted to incorporate our families and make it feel intentional—not just a quick elopement. We chose Brookings, Oregon, which sits right at the border of the California redwoods. It’s one of the most magical, underrated places to get married—towering trees, ocean views, and way fewer crowds than other elopement hotspots. But finding local vendors like hair, makeup, catering, and even a venue that allowed redwoods ceremonies took weeks of research and trial and error. So now that I’ve done it, I wanted to make this list to help the next bride-to-be who’s dreaming of saying “I do” among the trees. Planning a wedding is already stressful. I hope this list makes it easier to plan something beautiful, meaningful, and uniquely you in one of the most enchanting places on earth.
