I put together this list of foods, treats, and supplements that I personally recommend looking into for ferrets, with an emphasis on species-appropriate nutrition and ingredients. A good rule of thumb: ferrets are obligate carnivores, so their diet should be centered around appropriate animal-based nutrition rather than treats or foods high in carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, or unnecessary fillers.

I put together a list of my favorite ferret cage setup essentials to help make your ferret’s space more comfortable, enriching, and functional! 🐾 IMPORTANT: Every ferret is different, especially when it comes to chewing. Please only choose items that you know your ferret will not chew on or attempt to ingest. Ferrets can be surprisingly determined chewers, and swallowing pieces of fabric, rubber, foam, plastic, or other materials can potentially cause a dangerous intestinal blockage. Always supervise your ferret when introducing a new item and remove it immediately if they begin chewing, shredding, or ingesting it. Ferret-proofing and safety should always come before aesthetics! 🐾
