Every book on this list is actually on our shelf, some are current favorites, some are newer, and all are ones I’m happy we own.
One of my favorites on our shelf, and Wyatt loves it too. We’re a bug-loving house, so this one was kind of made for us. 🐛
Some Bugs - by Angela Diterlizzi (Hardcover)
Wyatt’s #1. I can recite this entire book in my sleep at this point. 😂
Llama Llama Red Pajama - by Anna Dewdney (Board Book)
One of Wyatt’s top 3. We’ve read this approximately 900 times and he’s still not sick of it.
8 Little Planets - by Chris Ferrie (Board Book)
Wyatt loves anything he can mess with, so the sliders and little moving pieces make this one a favorite. He’ll sit there turning and sliding everything over and over. 😂
Busy Bug Hotel (Happy Fox Books) Sturdy... book by Rebecca Weerasekera
This one taught Wyatt to “hoo hoo” like an owl and howl like a wolf. 😂 I love books that turn into him showing me everything he knows.
Don't Wake the Bear! - by Maggie Fischer (Board Book)
The watercolor illustrations got me immediately. Obviously. 😂 Such a pretty little set of first words books.
Our Little Library - (Tabitha Paige Children's Book) by Tabitha Paige (Mixed Media Product)
A newer one for us, but I love the idea of introducing science words this early.
My First 100 Science Words - (My First Steam Words) by Chris Ferrie (Board Book)
Not totally nature-themed, but I love the message behind this one. Just a sweet little reminder to be brave and be yourself
Be Brave Little One - by Marianne Richmond (Hardcover)
Such a sweet little baby book. I’ve read this one to Wyatt since he was tiny, so it’ll always have a soft spot for me. 🥹
Kiss Those Toes-Follow Along with a... book by Rainstorm Publishing
Another bug book because apparently I have a type. 😂 Wyatt and I love looking through this one and naming all the little bugs together.
My First 100 Bug Words - (My First Steam Words) by Chris Ferrie (Board Book)
I’ve read through this one, but we haven’t actually done it together yet. I’m really excited to when he’s a little more ready for it.
The Backyard Bug Book for Kids
Another one that makes it very obvious who picked the books in this house. 😂 Bugs + ABCs, and one I genuinely enjoy reading with Wyatt.
We got this one through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and it ended up being such a cute one. I love all the little woodland animals building their homes. 🥹
The Home Builders book by Varsha Bajaj
Wyatt learned that mice squeak from this one. 🥹 I love pointing to the different creatures and having him tell me what they are, what they say, or what they’re doing.
Who is in the Garden? Padded Board Book book by Simon Abbott
A classic for a reason. I loved having this one on Wyatt’s shelf before he was even old enough to care about books. 🥹
The Very Hungry Caterpillar - by Eric Carle (Board Book)
His Gran got him this one, and it’s been a favorite ever since. It’s cute, silly, and full of animals, so naturally it’s right up his alley.
See You Later, Alligator - by Sally Hopgood (Hardcover)
