As a person with mobility needs with my electric wheelchair, I am always wary of accommodation that always claim to be accessible. These are my experiences over many years and are just my experience, i hope they help you in any trips you go on.

I really should holiday in my own state a bit more often. I have tried to keep this current as I don't know what has closed or refurbished since my visit.

I have stayed in a couple of rooms now and definitely accessible if you ask for the correct room, make sure the room isn't listed as ambulatory accessible. Bathroom is a decent size and a portable shower chair can be supplied.

The Star Gold Coast

Accessible room is pretty good in size, sofa can fold out into a double. Bathroom was one large room but shower did have a glass wall. They can supply a portable shower chair.

Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane | George Street Brisbane CBD

Room was small with not a lot of room next to bed. Shower chair folds down from wall.

Hotel Surfers Paradise: Voco

Apartment was quite sizeable with a kitchen and easy to move around in, being on the waterfront meant easy access to the pool and beach. Bedroom was decently sized as was the bathroom that had a drop down shower bench.

Seahaven Noosa Beachfront Resort

Stayed here in the accessible room a few years ago, bed was king double, kitchen, lounge area and a good size bathroom. Location is nice as well with just a short walk to south bank.

The Capitol Apartments

While I haven't stayed here myself I have been told by friends that it is a very good option, also good with its central location in the city.

Rydges South Bank

Again I haven't stayed here but friends have told me that it is a good place and location is great too.

Emporium Hotel South Bank

Visited a friend a few years ago who was staying in an accessible room. It seemed quite a good size, as was the bathroom. Location is good too at south bank.

Mantra South Bank

Cheaper choice of accommodation if you need to be on a tight budget, close to Dreamworld Park if you are heading there. Bed is okay to get on, room had a single bed as well. Bathoom wasn't great with uneven ground around drain.

Coomera Motor Inn

Room was okay, a double and king single bed. Bathroom was also okay.

Mercure Gold Coast Resort

Stayed here a few times. Accessible rooms are fine with decent space. Shower is good size with a drop down seat.

Haven't stayed in many places here as my visits have mainly been for sport reasons or work.

A nice quiet retreat just out side of Byron Bay. Owners were quite helpful with my needs or requests. Bathroom was decently size with a fold down shower bench, Bedroom was a good size too.

THE FIGS BYRON BAY

Stayed a few times here and think they do a decent job with their accessible room. Room was spacious as was bathroom. With Rooty Hill RSL next door and other things it is a good option if you don't need to be in the city.

Stayed here once or twice a few years ago. Room was kind of small but manageable. Bathroom was decent.

Novotel Sydney Olympic Park

The accommodation was fine for the overnight stay that we needed. It was an accessible room with a bigger bathroom.

Ocean Parade Motel - Coffs Harbour

Mostly happy with the accommodation overall. Room was good size and accessible mostly. Bathroom could still use some adaptions to make it more accessible with handles and holders needing the work.

Orana Motel, Dubbo

Place was on the main street near all the pubs and shops. Room had a double and single bed and bathroom was decent size too.

The Saltbush Motor Inn, Hay

Good place that I can recommend if you are visiting the area for people with disability and a good price for the night.

Bushman Motor Inn - Parkes

Peppers Seaport Hotel, Launceston, Australia

Bedroom was decently sized but still difficult to move around. Bathroom was smaller with a drop down shower bench. Be prepared to pay for Wi-Fi as there is no phone service outside. Definitely return for the beautiful scenery and national Park.

Cradle Mountain Hotel

Great seafront location. The apartment is one giant room with lounge, kitchen and double bed (chimney in colder months). Bathroom isn't super big but manageable and has a washing machine.

Penguin Beachfront Apartments

Decently sized room and bed. Bathroom is good size too and a portable shower chair was provided. Only drawback was a small kitchenette. Water views wasn't too far away and was worth the walk.

The Hub Bicheno

Quite a decent location in the city but no on street parking means you will have to pay for it. The room itself isn't very large but had a pretty good view. Bathroom was very generous size with a drop down shower bench.

Quite limited with my time in Victoria as it is generally passing through to go some where else. I will get back to Melbourne one day again.

Pretty happy with my stay here as apartment was decent size. Shower room was one room with drop down shower bench. Apartment came with a sizeable balcony as well. Draw back was a smaller bedroom that made moving around inside not possible.

Good place overall, probably not the most accessible for a people with mobility needs but I could recommend it to those who may not need too much room around beds, I made do. Parking underneath is secure too.

Visited Canberra a couple of times now and did enjoy my time.

Room was pretty sizeable but still a bit of a hassle to move around in. Bathroom was a good size with a drop down shower bench. Shower was in an alcove that made it difficult to transfer to. Room was also quite a walk from the front door.

Room was quite modern in furniture, dark colours. Decently sized as was the bathroom that had a drop down bench for shower. Only issue was the tiles becoming slippery.

Country Roads Motor Inn Goondiwindi

I can't really recommend this Motel to anyone unless you are on a super tight budget. If felt like it was converted from a garage or something. The room didn't feel very clean, the bathroom was sizable though.
