Accommodation

Here are some affordable and comfy places to stay in Stockholm — all tried and tested by me. These are the spots I had the pleasure of staying at during my trip to Sweden.

Great location, the district is nice and peaceful, public transport is in a few minutes walking distance and any part of the city can be reached easily. The rooms are neat and clean. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every day.

Overall, good value for money, especially compared to other hotels in the area.

I stayed at a hotel of the Quality Hotel group in Malmö, Sweden, and it was one of my nicest experience in terms of accommodation.

These hotels are designed to provide the highest comfort and a peaceful holiday. The rooms are nice and equipped with everything you need. We had a double room on the 9th floor, it had a great view to the city.

The highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast. Insanely wide range of food, sweet and savoury, fruits, vegetables, fresh bakery products, juices, pancakes, everything you can imagine! Everything was delicious, I recommend it very much!

Museums

Stockholm has really cool museums — from history and art to pop culture. Whether you’re a museum nerd or just looking for something fun and interactive, these are a few places I really enjoyed. I hope to check out even more in the future.

This museum doesn't disappoint! It introduces the members of the band and the highlights of ABBA's carrier. There are a lot of interactive elements in the museum that are fun, for example karaoke, designing your own tour outfit, or going on stage as ...

Whether you are an ABBA fan or not, it's a must-visit in Stockholm! I myself am not a hardcore fan, but I love music and Eurovision, and I like ABBA's songs and I'm interested in Swedish music culture.

I recommend to book your ticket in advance.

I liked that the exhibitions are different, one was more like classical photography, one was a creative photo montage exhibition and the third one showcased huge, colourful real-life portraits of people in a vulnerable state of showing their true fac...

I could visit all available exhibitions with my ticket. I visited on a weekday and booked my ticket in advance to avoid the queue.

I loved it! If you love Avicii, pop music or Swedish music culture, you will love it, too!

It's set up beautifully, it includes things such as awards, instruments, studio equipment and even original items from Tim's childhood bedroom. The museum leads you through his career and also shows bits of his personal life. There are many videos of...

Overall, it's very informative and also very moving. It's a beautiful tribute to Avicii's music and Tim's life.

If you want a taste of Swedish culture, Skansen is the place. It’s an open-air museum where you can wander around old houses, see traditional crafts and Nordic animals.

Everything here is fascinating and the whole vibe is super chill. Also, the location is beautiful — definitely take some time to walk around Djurgården before or after.

Food and drink

Whether you’re craving fika, meatballs, or just a great coffee, here’s where I’d head to satisfy those cravings. Also, I've added some very Swedish things that I definitely wouldn't miss.

My fave place for a quick fika - I love grabbing a coffee and bakery products here between lunch and dinner. These convenience stores have so many things I love to pick up in Sweden — from the famous kanelbullar and hot dogs to a wide selection of co...

Make sure to stock up if you are in Sweden - seriously. You can never have too much Marabou. So delicious, so high quality, and comes in so many different flavours. Once you try it, you’ll get why it’s such a favorite.

It’s an apple and orange-flavoured Swedish drink with caffeine. It was invented to replace cola — and you know what? I actually like it more than Coke. It doesn’t beat my favourite caffeine-related drink (which is coffee, obviously), but it’s a fun o...
