An incredible event across the city, bringing together artists and art lovers together for a weekend full of free community-based events. The MLK Library Block Party was such a highlight!
DC Art All Night
DC isn’t known for its electronic music scene, but there’s definitely a lively community that came out for the Boiler Room shows. The first show sold out so quickly that they added a second night! The venue was perfect for the crowd size and the DJs ...

Not fun, but I finally made my way to this famed health and wellness shop to grab a few goodies for a friend that’s going through some health issues. This family-owned business has been around for decades and is truly doing amazing work to educate th...

Even though I live here, I would move into the Morrow if I could! The lobby is stunning, the rooms are spacious, and the rooftop bar and restaurant provides the perfect space for an elegant night out. You won’t be disappointed here

Food
My favorite meals, bars, and recipes this month ✨
If you’ve never had diri djon djon (Haitian Mushroom Rice), you’re seriously missing out. This was my first time making this and following this recipe made it so easy and the finish product reminded me of my mom’s cooking.
Haitian Black Rice (Diri Djon Djon & Video) - Instant Pot
The best pizza shop in DC finally opened in Union Market! With two locations now, I will happily no longer gatekeep this gem. The pizza is delicious! Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself
Slice & Pie
Best happy hour in DC (in my humble opinion). The drinks are great, food is even better, and it’s small enough that feels like the perfect neighborhood bar. You’ve got to try the shrimp and pulpo (octopus) tacos!
MezcaleroLaCosecha | Restaurant
Beautiful restaurant to try different cultural dishes from the Eastern world. I went on opening night and almost died on the patio when I sudden gust of wind came out of nowhere and knocked plates and tables to the ground. The staff was so reactive a...

For a sports bar, the food here is BOMB. We went for the opening game of the season (go birds 🦅) and had an amazing time. As someone who doesn’t like watching sports, I enjoyed myself and the crowd made the game enjoyable.
