My favorite beauty recs - skincare routine for angry, Dry Skin!

I’ve had problematic skin my entire life—combo for years, and now in my late 30s it’s turned super dry. I also deal with eczema and rosacea, plus MCAS, so basically anything can trigger redness, welts, puffiness… you name it.

After searching high and low for over a year, I finally landed on a routine that works. Like, actually works. This is the lineup that has me getting the “wait, what are you using on your skin?!” questions lately.

These are 100% repurchase-forever products for me - it's a mixture of affordable and higher end as well ❤️

AM Routine ☀️

yes, it's a lot.  but it works and half of it is VERY budget friendly!

Tatcha has the BEST cleanser - I use in the mornings and it just stays in my shower.
The Matcha Cleanse - Daily Clarifying Gel Cleanser

While the Matcha cleanse is my AM routine - sometimes you just need another shower or to wash your face in the day. So it's not overdrying , I like to use this when needed. It's also my favorite to take when traveling since EVERY hotel's water system... This is great for accidental sunburns too!
The Rice Wash - Creamy Rice Powder Cleanser

I use this once a week in my everything shower to exfoliate my face.  It's gentle enough to use more than once a week, but I don't want to go overboard!
The Rice Polish: Gentle

After cleansing my skin in the morning, I mix this and the Byoma Hydrating Repair Oil and let that absorb before following up with my Tatcha cream.
Multi-Quench Polyglutamic Acid Serum

I mix this with my Prequel serum for a great combo to start my skincare after cleansing for the day.  1 pump of the serum and a couple of drops of this is all you need.
Byoma Hydrating Recovery Oil

I will die on a hill for this eye serum. With constant histamine issues -  this is the ONLY serum that has helped with puffiness.
Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Eye Serum

I have gone through a major dry skin era Once hitting my late 30s. This is the ONLY product that keeps my skin so soft and hydrated without any sensitive skin reactions. It’s my ride or die product above anything else.  I use this after my serums. A little goes a long way!
The Dewy Skin Cream Replenishing and Plumping Moisturizer

I suffer with Rosacea and this is the only thing that has really helped with my redness to tone it down.  It's not a cure , but I can go out into public without people asking if Im overheating or am embarassed by something, so that is a win in my book.
Prequel Redness Reform - Redness Reducing Soothing Serum

WEAR THE SUNSCREEN…. this is not an option.  I find the best hydrating and less greasy with this specific facial sunscreen. this is my last step and I put this on generally prior to leaving the house, and keep an extra in my purse.
Beauty of Joseon - Day Dew Sunscreen (Lightweight SPF 50)

PM Routine 🌜

I'm more lazy at night, so my PM routine is a lot more simple.  I use Tretinoin every other night after washing my face (and letting it dry fully!), then follow up with some repairing cream and moisturizer.  On other nights, I tend to use  a cream and a PDRN serum

I really like using this cleanser at night to help with my redness on a routine basis.  I have been impressed with the Prequel line since it came out and it's becoming one of my favorites!

Pro tip - leave it on for a couple of minutes and it will act like a mini “mask”
Redness Reform Sulfur Cleanser - Optically Reduces Redness

I use this specifically after my retinol and night time moisturizer is absorbed. I can get flaky skin sometimes and this helps tremendously. Also is a lifesaver if the sun was not my friend to my face.
Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream

I have started using this as I still get hormonal acne  as an adult.  I generally only get this around my menstrual cycle and this has helped tone down the flare ups, when most acne products will make my skin worse.  This is supposed to feel like needles on your skin! Start with the 2000 dosage at first, then work your way up. I put this on generally prior to my night cream until the tingly feeling wears off - never on my retinol nights
Medicube Azelaic Acid Exosome Shot 7500 -

The Best nightcream for dry skin - no notes need to be given on this and you need only a SMALL amount.  A jar normally lasts me half a year if not longer. Since it's developed for sensitive skin I also use this as my eye cream.
Tatcha - Indigo Overnight Repair Serum for Sensitive Skin
