Ice Packs

Ice is THE best natural pain easer for me and for many with migraine. These are the best migraine ice packs I've found!

Nell Marie profile picture
This is my FAV ice pack when I'm experiencing a migraine attack. It stays cold for at least an hour, covers much of my head, and I can easily wear it when I'm up and moving around.
Headache Hat

I love this soft ice pack when I need gentle cold and something I can lay down with and rest while it's working to ease my pain.

I like this ice hat when I need a full head cooling during a rough migraine attack. It keeps cold for a long time, not as long as the headache hat, and covers the entire head.
Soothie Hoodie

While I didn't personally like this ice pack, so many do love it that I felt I should include it. I found the cooling only lasted about 20 minutes for me, but I need a very cold ice pack when I'm fighting a migraine attack.

Migraine Devices

These devices help ease migraine pain

Nell Marie profile picture
I love this device and use it with almost every attack. It helps ease the pain and sometimes takes away so  much of the pain that I barely feel the migraine attack anymore.
CEFALY Migraine Device

Nell Marie profile picture
This is another migraine device option. I've not tried it but have heard great things. I do believe this device require a “prescription” from your doctor though, unlike Cefaly, which you can purcase without your doctor.

Another option for migraine relief is Nerivio, which has recently become FDA approved for the treatment of migraine pain.

Hands down my favorite OTC for nausea! It's a game changer.

Plant Therapy Tummy Aid Roller Blend

Nell Marie profile picture
This is the same as the roller ball mixture but not in a roller ball. I have this one and just use a few drops to rub over my upper/mid belly when it's upset. I swear it helps!

For the Neck

I have neck involvement with my migraine attacks, do you? If you do, I recommend the following products.

I have this exact pillow and love it so much I got one for my oldest son, who has neck pain issues. Without this pillow, and my OTC mouth guard, I would most certainly wake every morning with a migraine attack. The pillow is hands down my favorite I'...

Icy Hot roll on is great for the neck and shoulders during a migraine attack, especially if you like cold followed up by heat.

Biofreeze is my favorite option for helping ease neck pain during a migraine attack. I like the mess free option of a roll on!
Biofreeze Roll On

Nell Marie profile picture
This Biofreeze option is great if you need a thicker covering of the product on your neck/shoulders. I find this lasts longer than the roll on when on the body.
Biofreeze

This is a good option, too. I have it and have used it but personally prefer biofreeze at this time but I'm happy to have this in my migraine tool kit, too.
Stopain Migraine Pain Relief Gel

For the Temples

Products that can be used on the face to help with migraine pain relief.

Nell Marie profile picture
Hands down, this is my favorite migraine relief for the face. Just regular old peppermint oil. It's strong and helps ease the pain. While on it's own, it doesn't help a lot, paired with my other migraine tools, I find it's a valuable tool.

For the Eyes

Let's face it, those of us with chronic migraine - even episodic for that matter - often still have to work and be exposed to light sources. These products help to lessen the stress on the eyes.

Sunglasses are a must! When outside, grab your oversized glasses, like these, and wear them. I find that I'm quite forgetful to wear mine but when I do, I find it helps cut back my chances for developing a sun induced migraine attack.

Wearing a hat also helps keep harsh light and sunlight at bay, just adding another layer of protection against the light trigger with migraine attacks.
Smile Face Baseball Cap for Women

In addition to a baseball cap, you may be interested in something a bit more dressy, or something perfect for the sunny spring and summer months. A hat like this would be a great option to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your face.

For the ears

Sound can be a big trigger for many of us suffering with migraine disease, and it is for me. These ear plugs can help!

Nell Marie profile picture
Canceling noise/cutting it back to a tolerable level is a huge key in keeping that trigger from exploding into a migraine attack. These ear plugs are top of the line!

If you need a more afforable option than loop, the other ear plugs in this list, you'll want to check out these! They help cancel noise, are comfortable, and on the cheaper side.

While being cozy isn't going to take your pain away, it can help make the rest of you feel comfortable while you're working to relieve your head pain.

Epsom salt can help ease tense muscles and lighten any body pain and discomfort you have. This one in particular is scent free, which I find important when in an attack as smells can trigger some of us living with migraine disease.

Some of you may not handle warmth well during a migraine attack, while others are soothed by it - like me. This heating blanket is a great option to keep a low level of warmth, or higher if you choose, while laying in bed and resting with the pain.
