The backpack is probably the first thing she'll have an opinion about. I wanted to give her a few choices because what feels cute and exciting in 6th grade can change very quickly. These are options I'd feel good sending her to school with — roomy, practical, and still fun enough for her to love.







These are the everyday things she'll actually use once school starts. I tried to keep this section practical but still picked options that make school supplies feel a little more fun.


























Middle school is when I really want her to start taking ownership of her assignments and keeping track of her own stuff. These are the things that can help her stay organized without Mom having to manage every paper and assignment. 😂







Technology becomes a much bigger part of school as they get older. These are the things I'd want her to have ready before she realizes she needs them in the middle of the school year.








School days are long, so I want her to have food and water that she'll actually want to carry with her. I'm all for practical things that make the school day a little easier.






This is probably my favorite section. These are the little things I want her to have tucked away in her backpack so she can handle those awkward “Mom, I need something…” moments on her own. Some she'll use all the time, and some are there just in cas...

















These aren't things she technically “needs” for school, but I love having a few little things in her bag that help her feel comfortable and confident throughout the day






These are the kind of thingS I’d throw in her backpack and forget about—until she desperately needs one. I love that they’re cute and neutral, and having extras means she can keep a few in her pencil pouch or personal-care bag.
