Belay, clip quickdraws, and rappel safely

Belaying is keeping your climbing partner safe in the event of a fall, quickdraws protect you on your ascent, and rappelling means lowering yourself on a rope safely. :)

Build your anchor

First things first. Use a personal anchor to keep you safe while assembling! This is one example of a top rope anchor. I always use a quad because it is self-equalizing and super versatile! You'll need a cordelette and 4 locking carabiners.
