Toddler years are hard enough as it is. They’re climbing everything and running off and into things. They’re learning to hold their bladder and inevitably tell you they need to pee as soon as you hit the road. These recs are some basics we always have on hand to survive these days.

If you are a new parent you likely don’t have most of these items yet and may be overwhelmed with all of the options. These are good, safe, items to start with. These items are ones we found ourselves needing and using routinely with our two children.

These books are not just for boys, girls can benefit from reading them too. This list is geared towards boys with the idea that they can benefit from learning certain messages and breaking generational cycles of misogyny, sexism, racism, toxic masculinity, and more. They can learn to be loving, accepting, and in control of their emotions and that these things can be synonymous with being a boy/man.
