I'm passionate about anti-aging and sun protection. I didn't realize for a long time that a lot of SPF isn't rosacea-friendly, so I had an awful time as a teen/young adult with sunscreens destroying my skin with irritation. But now I have a list of rosacea-safe sunscreens and I'm going to share them here! ℹ️ This list includes affiliate links, including Amazon associate links where I earn commission.

Untinted SPF
Basic sunscreen for every day wear.
I think this is my new go-to daily SPF. The best alternative I've found to EltaMD rosacea SPF (which is NOT cruelty-free). It has the same UV filters and the other ingredients looked similar at a glance, so I am very happy with the DRMTLGY one so far!
DRMTLGY Broad Spectrum SPF 45
It's a great SPF, but it can sometimes look a little oily on it's own - not a problem under makeup, though!
Josie Maran Get Even Sun Milk
This contains ingredients that are NOT rosacea-friendly BUT it also has soothing ingredients and I haven’t had an issue yet. Keep in mind I do not use this daily because of the ingredients (I didn't realize it contained so many chemical sunscreens un...
I have become SUCH a fan of Good Molecules, so I was excited to try this sunscreen and it did not disappoint! It’s quite thick but dries down beautifully after a few minutes.
Good Molecules Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
This applies beautifully and there’s no white cast. So far no pulling or irritation! It had a slightly dewy finish.
Paula's Choice Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
I really like this! It has a slight tint, but applies clear without any white cast (I think it's just the color of the ingredients rather than actual tint for coverage.) I'm also a fan of anything with licorice!
Paula's Choice Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30
This might be the most affordable one on my list. Leaves a slight white cast, but fine for me with as pale as I am and it easily covers up under makeup.
Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Sunscreen SPF 30
Tinted SPF
It is almost impossible for me to find a tinted SPF that's not too dark, so I LOVE THESE!
I think this is my favorite tinted SPF! The shade self adjusts, so if you’re a pale girly who can’t wear most tinted SPF this is a great choice!
Colorescience Face Shield Flex SPF 50
The color match is perfect perfect and the finish is so natural. Just make sure you've exfoliated first for a smooth finish!
I quite liked this, despite the smell. Hear me out, I know everyone complains about the smell of this, and it is bad, but it doesn't last. I'm SUPER sensitive to smells, and if I can handle this anyone can. It also gives pretty good coverage, more like a foundation than a serum.
Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 - 0.5 Skye
Lip SPF
Don't neglect your lips!
The only lip product I need in the summer! (and the winter, a lot of the time) The tint is PERFECT. I love that it's a stick rather than a gloss so my lips are never sticky. I ALWAYS have this in my bag. They make an untinted version as well!
Coola Tinted Liplux Lip Balm Sunscreen
The same great Coola lip SPF without the tint
Coola Original Liplux Lip Balm Sunscreen
Hydrating and not sticky, just like the description says!
DRMTLGY SPF 25 Lip Balm
Body
For when you aren't wearing pants and long sleeves and a hat.
I use this on my arms for easy application. (Not rosacea-friendly for the face).
Naked Sundays Clear Glow Sun Stick SPF 50
Not to be dramatic, but I won't go anywhere without this in my purse.
