After experiencing summer camp for the first time this summer I can confidently recommend all these <3
Â
A good water bottle is probably my #1 camp essential. You’re outside and running around all day, so having a big insulated bottle that actually keeps your water cold is a lifesaver. I carried mine everywhere!

Camp days are LONG and you’re barely ever in your cabin. Having a portable charger saved me so many times, especially on busy days when I didn’t have a chance to charge my phone.
Portable Chargers & Power Banks
Â
If your cabin doesn’t have AC, trust me, you’ll want one of these. Summer nights can get sooo hot and a little fan next to your bed makes such a difference.
Mini Portable Fans
Â
One of those things you don’t think you need until you’re walking back to your cabin in complete darkness. So much more convenient than using your phone flashlight!
Headlamp
Â
Comfortable shoes are a MUST when you’re a counselor. You’ll be walking, running and standing basically all day, so bring a pair you know you can actually live in.
Nike Trainers
Â
I basically lived in comfy shorts at camp. They’re perfect for hot activity days, sports, running around with campers and literally everything in between.
Nike Shorts
Â
Perfect for keeping all the little things you constantly need as a counselor — your phone, keys, lip balm, sunscreen and anything else you don’t want to lose around camp.
Lululemon Belt Bag
Â
Another camp wardrobe staple. Comfy, lightweight and easy to throw on for basically any activity. You can never pack too many pairs of shorts for camp!

Packing cubes make living out of camp drawers SO much easier. I love separating everything into categories so I’m not destroying my entire cabin every time I need one T-shirt.

A big duffel is honestly perfect for camp. You need to pack for weeks or even months, and having something spacious but easy to carry makes travel days so much less stressful.
Duffle Bag
Â
Such a cute thing to have for downtime with your campers! Making bracelets together is an easy activity, and you end up going home with little bracelets that remind you of everyone.
Friendship Bracelet Kit

A speaker makes everything more fun — cabin clean-up, getting ready, activities, dance parties… We used music all the time at camp, so this is definitely worth packing.
Portable Bluetooth speaker

PLEASE bring a camera to camp! Some of my favorite photos from the whole summer came from random everyday moments. Having a separate camera also makes you way more likely to actually capture them instead of always being on your phone.
