Victoria is one of the top places in the world to go whale watching with the Salish Sea being home to Orcas and loads of other marine life. Our tour was cancelled due to weather but we can't wait to go back and have another go!

Canada is a wonderful place to go ziplining. It's a great way to enjoy the wonderful scenery and forests. Canada generally has higher height and weight requirements so our kids weren't able to try it so check before booking.

Take a horse and carriage ride
A beautiful botanical gardens located north of Victoria. This is one of the top things to do in the area and a wonderful place to visit. The gardens really are beautiful!
Butchart Gardens
Get out on the water in a kayak and see if you can spot any local wildlife. We spotted seals just in the harbour! There are lots of different options so pick the one that suits you best.

Wildplay offers a range of cool outdoor activities across Canada including zipling, high ropes courses, axe throwing etc. We really enjoyed the high ropes course on the outskirts of Victoria so would highly recommend this. It was perfect for the kids...

Fisherman's wharf is a lovely area of the city with brightly coloured house boats and a little wharf area for shopping and eating. You can then get the water taxi back across the harbour too!

A lovely park close to the center of the city. We enjoyed a great morning here and the kids loved the playground. The park goes all the way down to the ocean where you can try and spot whales on a clear day.

Explore the city on a hop on hop off bus tour! A classic way to get around and see the best of the city.

A lovely area outside Victoria where you can get out of the city and explore this beautiful part of the world.
Goldstream Provincial Park
Vancouver Island is teeming with bears. Take an excursion to get out of the city into the wilderness to see if you can spot any! Some even offer water based tours as bears are known to head down to the beaches to feed.
Grizzly Bear Expedition
Head further inland and north of the city to see some of the massive trees growing in the center of the island. These truly are amazing!
Cathedral Grove
A lovely spot along the coast from Victoria where you can see salmon splashing around in the pools. The kids loved climbing around on the rocks and it was a great little stop as we explored the southern coastline of Vancouver Island.
Sooke Potholes Provincial Park
A lovely little beach with a kids playground. You can sometimes see whales from the shore here. We weren't quite this lucky but we still loved this stop nonetheless!
