Work From Home Kit That Earns Its Desk Space

items For anyone working from home who is tired of sounding and looking like they are broadcasting from inside a cupboard. Audio, video, power and posture. It leans toward the things other people notice on a call, because if you are working with clients th...
The noise cancelling is why you buy them. The reason I kept them is that they are still comfortable six hours in. Renovation next door, screaming toddler on a flight, open plan office, all handled, and the battery lasts long enough that I regularly f...
Sony WH-1000XM5 Premium Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones
You do not need a studio, you need to stop sounding like you are calling from inside a bin. It plugs straight into a laptop over USB with no audio interface to buy, and it picks up your voice and almost nothing else in the room.
MV7+ - Podcast Microphone - Shure USA
Built in laptop cameras make everyone look like a hostage. This one has proper autofocus and handles bad lighting without turning your face into soup. Worth it the moment you are on calls with people who are paying you.
Logitech BRIO Webcam with 4K Ultra HD Video & HDR
It charges a laptop, not just a phone, which is the entire point. Fast enough that a short stop somewhere with a plug gets you back to full. Slightly heavy, and I have never once resented carrying it.
Anker Prime Power Bank (26K, 300W)
Sitting for eight hours is the problem, not your chair. Memory presets mean you change height without fiddling, so you actually do it, and it stays stable at full extension where the cheap ones start to wobble. The biggest single thing I have bought ...
Premium Standing Desk E7 Pro
Lighting does more for how you look on camera than any webcam upgrade. Mounts on a clamp so it takes no desk space, and it is dimmable enough not to blind you.
Elgato Key Light Air
Colour accurate, sharp text, and a single cable to the laptop for video, data and power. The last part is what you will actually notice every day.
Dell UltraSharp U2723QE Monitor
Buy this with the microphone or you will end up hunched toward a desk stand. It swings out of the way when you are not on a call, which is most of the time.
PSA1+ | Premium Professional Studio Arm | RØDE (US)
Physical buttons for mute, camera off and switching apps. Sounds indulgent until you have hunted for the mute button during a meeting that was going badly.
Elgato Stream Deck MK.2
For the calls where you do not want headphones on. Picks up the room without the hollow echo that makes everyone ask if you are in a car park.
Anker PowerConf S330 USB Speakerphone
The standing desk stops working after about forty minutes without one of these. Cushioned enough that your heels stop objecting.
Anti Fatigue Mats for Standing Desk
The evidence on blue light is thinner than the marketing suggests, so I will be honest, I bought these for the eye strain and the anti-glare coating is doing most of the work. Still helps.
Blue Light Glasses
The headphones for when headphones are too much. Same noise cancelling quality in something you can take on a call while walking to get lunch.
Sony WF-1000XM5 Earbuds
A second screen that weighs less than a magazine and runs off one cable. This is the one that makes working from a kitchen table survivable.
Espresso Display 15 Pro
It looks like a design object and it is really a cable trap, with a slot that stops the charging cable falling behind the desk forty times a day.
Orbitkey Desk Mat
Nobody cares about your router until you freeze mid sentence on a client call. Mesh fixes the dead corner where you actually work.
TP-Link Deco XE75 Mesh WiFi
For anyone who works in cafes or open offices with anything confidential on screen. Also cuts glare, which is the reason I kept it on at home.
