I personally prefer metal crochet hooks because they're way more sturdy and less likely to break off, apart for thinner ones, specifically those that are less than 3 mm

A yarn holder is pretty neat for several reasons: 1) it keeps the yarn away from you while you crochet (IYKYK), and 2) they're great for quick cleanup. There's also a smaller version (usually a strawberry) that's great for travelling!

It's a great way to store yarn for travel, but in my opinion, it's only good for when you're heading somewher for a bit because at home you'd definitely use something more practical, like those huge transparent storage boxes
