Architecture and Gardens
Self-guided tour in the sun (bring an umbrella) through intricate architecture and tastefully curated gardens. Free for EBT members of up to 4 people.
Filoli Garden
Some friends of mine have yearly memberships for this amazing library!
The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens
Their Halloween festivities are a MUST! I believe they also have a Christmas spectacle… But regardless their botanical garden is a memorable experience. (Kid-friendly!)
Descanso Garden
Beautiful way to spend an afternoon learning about the estate of William Hearst and his love of collecting beautiful artifacts of history.
Hearst Castle
Viewpoints by Car
Roads have been closed due to fires and other occasional road working but if you have a chance, catch this natural wonder!
Discover the Beauty of Big Sur California
Farms
Attending the Lavender Festival is a yearly event for me. There is always new (lavender-themed) food to try, a 1000 year oak tree waiting for your return, and of course, the lovely lavender field that you cannot miss.
Lavender Festival
Beaches
One of the only protected beaches in California! Wild life is prioritized and cared for at this beach… That being said clean up after yourselves and respect the nature.
La Jolla
National Parks
ALWAYS USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT AS THE WATER LEVEL RISES PERIODICALLY DURING CERTAIN SEASONS. Beautiful park but nature must not be defied.
Sequoia National Park
Stargaze, hike, take pictures, admire the Joshua Trees, climb boulders, all of it… and it doesn’t need to be in that order.
Joshua Tree National Park
Swim spots, hikes, natural scenery, what more can you ask for?
Yosemite National Park
Car Enthusiast Outings
Come check out a half garage - half coffee shop experience.
AT230 Cars and Coffee
Lightning McQueen spotted here!
Peterson Automotive Museum
More fun!
Get your next Need-Oh, butter squishy, fidget toy, rare Pokémon card, D&D dice, Fuggler, basically anything collectible here!!!
Frank N Sons
Museums
Ski, snowboard, go tubing, enjoy the lake, go on a helicopter ride, stay in a cabin, visit local shops and eateries, all of it. At least a 3 day trip in my opinion.
Big Bear
My pets come with me!
Rosie’s dog beach… I’m Rosie and I recommend it :D
Rosie's Dog Beach
Mountains
Smaller mountain town but still full of life with farmers markets, cafes, restaurants, and vintage stores.
Wrightwood
A bit of tourism never hurt nobody
Not my first picks to do in California but to each their own!
Not the glamour everyone says it is but experiencing it once is more than enough.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Prettiest from afar… Hike isn’t necessary (in my opinion).
Hollywood Sign
See it once, see it multiple times, take your friends, or don’t, but make sure you have time to stand in line for a little bit!
