Imagine the entire world is literally black and white, and your entire life is predetermined for you, down to who is a part of your family and your career. But there's one person in the world who knows the truth… and it's time to pass on the baton.

I read this book for the first time as a kid, and really enjoyed reading about this unique, dystopian society that pretends to be a utopia. More than anything, it touches upon what it means to be a human being.

What happens when the human consciousness fights back against the host? Enter our main character, a host in the body of an unwilling human. Two souls in one body with a very different definition of what it means to live.

My favorite parts are the descriptions of the alien planets and the simple joys of being a human. It's a good read.
