Our favorite special occasion spot—the food is heavenly and the ambiance is Nordic cozy

One of the best nights of food and drink I’ve had in years. The tasting menu and wine pairing are UNREAL—they’re a bit more than the $100pp goal but great for an anniversary or big occasion.

Sneaky winner of the night: the Eaton Mess dessert!! Indescribable, and won over even the “I’m not really a dessert person” folks.

I’m not huge into Japanese fusion…usually. This place became a birthday favorite…DAMN that steak and ice cream combo is fire!!

Fancy and good, but not as special and near and dear to our hearts as the rest of this list. However, I did shed a few tears at the taste of their pesto pasta. Actual wet cheeks from inspiration.

This love of an evening snuck up on us. Every dish was a winner and the ambiance was fun and lively. Great for a family gathering or friend reunion. Plus their mission and name have a cool backstory…check out their website!

The East Bay, “worth crossing the bridge for” stunner. Laid back, not fussy, just GEWD.

The underdog for us; we did less planning and knew less going in, and just sat at the bar. Then they brought out dish after impressive dish and kinda blew it out of the water, so snagged a spot despite being slightly less hyped.
