My Setup
I was given a record player as a gift, but if I have to buy a new one anytime soon, I would buy one from Audio-Technica and pick one that is wood, like this one.
I've never had a problem with this receiver and it fit right into my budget! Works great with my speakers and record player. And it has Bluetooth! So when I stream music from my phone I don't even need to connect anything.
Sony STR-DH190 Bluetooth Stereo Receiver
These speakers sound great, are a really good price, and they don't take up too much room.
T15 Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) | Polk Audio
Full disclosure, I thrifted my record player stand, but it's very similar to this! I love being able to store my recently played records underneath.
Vinyl Record Storage Shelf
I'm a vintage furniture girl, but I was looking for something SUPER specific to store my vinyl that wasn't going to be in my budget. While this isn't real wood, I find it decently sturdy. It has tons of space for my records with room to spare. I love...

I highly recommend checking out your local used record store for LPs, but Barnes and Noble has a great selection too, if you're looking for a specific release!

I like these headphones not only because of the sound, but also because of how well they’re made. It’s so hard to find ear pads with leather. Big splurge headphones. The rose gold ones are stylish.
Beoplay H95 - Premium Noise-Cancelling Headphones
If you can, find an iPod Video (iPod Classic) on eBay. Such a great way to store your music library!
Apple iPod Video
Artists are still making CDs and they're selling great! Are they still even making CD players? Find one on eBay! And make sure it's tested. I love that the Walkman is portable–I mean what a great invention and design. It's small and can easily sit in...
Sony CD Walkman Player ESP MAX D-E350 Vintage Blue Tested Works Great 01-001-002
I use these for travel. The active noise cancellation is amazing– way better than my over the ear headphones.
Apple AirPods Pro 2, Wireless Earbuds, Active Noise Cancellation, Hearing Aid Feature
Is a slipmat a *must* if you're not a DJ? No, but it can reduce some vibration. And a fun design like this one is fun when you don't have a record on (or when you have some of your cool transparent vinyl on!)
Overlook Hotel Pattern Turntable Slipmat - 12" LP Record Player, DJ Slipmat- 16oz Felt w/ Glazed Bottom
If you're going to plug in a CD player, iPod, or anything with an audio jack that doesn't have Bluetooth, you'll need an audio cable. 3 feet should be good!
