There are so many amazing places to visit even in just the US, but hopefully this list will be beneficial to you if you are trying to map out places to go as a family with young children. Make memories that will last a lifetime!
Map
Definitely worth it. Not to mention there is a huge cafe that is great place to eat with youngsters!
Ark Encounter: Life-size Noah's Ark
One of my all time favorite museums! This has everything!
Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum & Birthplace - Pepin Wisconsin
If you want to know where mankind came from definitely start here! Great for young kids too!

This is an excellent place to take families especially young children. Lots of world's largest attractions to see and experience
Big Things Small Town | Casey, Illinois | 12 World's Largest
This was an incredible park; absolutely worth driving there! I wish I had packed a large picnic lunch though because there is a LONG drive down a narrow very curvy mountain with not many places to pull over. We saw a bear in the wild, and you have to...
Great Smoky Mountains - National Park Service
You could spend a week here and still not see it all. Great food, views, and culture. You will definitely be taken back in time. Hard to say what I would recommend because its all so good!
Amish Country Ohio | Visit Amish Country | Amish Country Trips OH
Another great place to have a picnic, or dine in the restaurant inside. There is a park a short walk with a 1-mile path overlooking a waterfall. Very scenic
Historic Clifton Mill – One of the largest water-powered grist mills still ...
I have been to this multiple times. Great for any age. If you have actual armor to wear inside even better. Be prepared to have a great time, plus there is a garden area outside as well
Loveland Castle
Unforgettable experience. I have no words. It is very creepy and at the same time an amazing work of art of an older man (who we actually got to meet in person!)
Fortress of Faith (Greenback Castle) - Atlas Obscura
No cars allowed! Dirt roads, horses and walking only! If you like the western scene, this is for you. It isn't huge but its not far from Charlotte, NC certainly worth visiting!
Love Valley
This place is HUGE! Plan for a full day to see all the planes. Good place for kids to run around and its free admission!
Air Force Museum
If you enjoy the beach scene, this is a great place to walk if you enjoy people watching
The Wildwoods Boardwalk
No Amish buggies; the Amish ride bicycles in this community primarily for senior Amish in the wintertime
THE PINECRAFT AMISH COMMUNITY
The museum is very good and the accoustics are to die for inside!
Bethesda Academy
One of the world's smallest church's; you have to stop to see this!
Wytheville's Smallest Church - Home
If you aren't afraid of heights then this one is for you! You can see multiple states from the top if you dare to climb. Trust me its worth it!
Big Walker Lookout - Lookout Point & Country Store - Wytheville, VA
What's not to love about the waterfall? Definitely plan to take the boat its worth the money!
Niagara Falls USA Tourism (Official Site) | Niagara Falls USA
This one is kind of self explanatory. Back before all the crazy stuff in our world I actually got to tour inside the White House! Riding around via bicycles or scooters recommended!
Washington, D.C.
Let's face it, unless you enjoy cornfields for miles on end there's not much to see in Iowa; unless you stop in Pella. Definitely worth it!
Vermeer Windmill - Pella Historical Museums
Yes, this is a real thing. And I got to meet the wife of the late designer. Not a lot to see but certainly unique!
The Two-Story Outhouse - Atlas Obscura
You could probably see this in an hour but definitely worth the stop!
Pencil Sharpener Museum - Explore Hocking Hills
I would say you could experience everything in about 2 hours even with kids. You will certainly want to bring your camera and be thinking about which shakers to purchase at the end for a souvenir!
The Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum Gatlinburg - Home
We went on a date night when most of these things were closed but if you enjoy things from the 17th-18th century then plan to book this out way in advance!
