I've read over 100 books so far in 2025, and these were my favorites! I'm very, VERY picky with what books I rate five stars, so these truly are the best of the best (in my opinion).

I like a 20 book fantasy series as much as the next nerd (that is to say, a lot), but sometimes you're in the mood to be one and done. This is a list of my favorite sci-fi and fantasy standalones that I've read over the past few years.

I absolutely love the process of styling my bookshelves. It's a wonderful way to display the books I love with fun and funky decor that reflects my personality. Full disclosure, a lot of the decor I own (other than the fake plants) was either a gift, bought secondhand, or inherited from a family member. However, I've done my best to find similar pieces that give off the same vibe.
